The hang
At the southern tip of Rhodes a strip of sand runs out to an islet with the Aegean on one side and the Mediterranean on the other, and you can stand where they meet. One side is gentle and one side is rough. The guides disagree about which is which, which tells you something about the wind. It blows constantly; this is why the beach is full of surf schools and board rentals and why nobody here has ever had a relaxed afternoon. Two sides, a constant wind, no evening plans. You know the type.
